Rotorua has a population of +- 50 000 in the Bay of Plenty region and also lies in the "thermal wonderland" area. Boiling and bubbling mud, steam and geysers are all "natural occurances" in this area. Within the region are 15 lakes which also makes this area very attractive for holiday makers that frequent this area. Within an hour and a half away from Hamilton, Tauranga, Whakatane, Taupo and 2 hours away from Whakapapa ski fields makes this little town very central to the "Central North Island". It now also boasts it's own International airport with flights from Sydney direct on certain days and all other regional flights coming in from the major centres, Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch etc daily.
